What Lori Loughlin Told John Stamos During College Admissions Scandal

John Stamos Details His Relationship With Lori Loughlin

John Stamos will always be by Lori Loughlin's side.

In his memoir If You Would Have Told Me released Oct. 24, the Full House alum recalled reaching out to his costar to touch base amid the college admissions bribery scandal involving her and her husband Mossimo Giannulli.

"Lori Loughlin continues to be a cherished friend to this day," John writes, "We've weathered storms together and stood by each other's sides despite life's hurdles. We've seen each other at our worst."

In 2020, Lori and Mossimo both pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges for securing admission to the University of Southern California for their two children, Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli, as part of the school's crew team, despite them not being rowers.

She served two months in jail, ordered to pay a $150,000 fine and complete 150 hours of community service, while her husband was sentenced to five months, a $250,000 fine and 250 hours of community service.

As John revealed in his book, he called the Fuller House actress after finding out about the scandal, noting that she responded casually. And after he heard a clicking noise while they were on the phone, she informed him that her phone may have been bugged.

"No matter how hard she was hit, how desperate everyone was to cancel her and throw her in with the pile of brutal criminals," John adds, "she stood fast, protecting her daughters from the mud hurled at them day after day after day."

He went on to express his gratitude for their lifelong friendship, writing, "I am thankful that she continues to be a significant part of my life (and my neighbor)."

This isn't the first time that the ER actor has come to his friend's defense, as John previously insisted that Lori "didn't know what was going on."

"She wasn't really the architect of any of it," he said during a November 2022 episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, "she was in the way background."
